Program Manager - National Partnerships

Primary Location: Washington, DC
Additional Locations: DC-Washington

National Partnerships is responsible for building Aetna’s national reputation in promoting community health and addressing social determinant gaps through strategic, scalable, and sustained partnerships. In collaboration with Aetna business lines and functional leaders, this team contributes to the CVS Health/Aetna Business enterprise wide
SDOH strategy. Its role is to forge unique national alliances, generate data, promote thought leadership, and drive our brand at the national and local level.

This position supports the National Partnerships team across several key areas. We are looking for an individual who has technical project management skills, is genuinely interested in community health and social determinants and is able to remain up to date on the changing landscape in this space sufficiently to track and report on market activity for the rest of the team. This individual should also be able to build PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use, and work
efficiently in excel as needed. Overall, the successful candidate is proactive and self-directed to take initiative as needed to support a growing area of interest within Aetna.

Fundamental Components:

Project management.

For existing partnerships - and as new partnerships launch - we require technical
project management support to ensure that the programs and commitments are delivered per the partnerships contract and business objectives. This work requires being on weekly calls with internal and external partners, creating,
tracking, and reporting on program timelines; being proactive about gaps and deadlines to ensure nothing is missed.

Project Management activities may include:

  • Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing and summarizing relevant information.
  • Establishing effective project communication plans and ensuring their execution.
  • Conducting post project evaluation and identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.

Market intelligence:

We also require a resource who can track all competitor and market activity in the SDOH space and who can create a short weekly report to share insights and intelligence. The information to assess market activity is based on
existing internal resources and a scan of credible external sites.

Operational Support:

This position helps the team achieve operational objectives by preparing and completing action plans for programs and project; supporting the creation of annual strategic plans; preparing and helping to track an annual budget.

Background Experience:

  • Proven experience in project
    management; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
  • Able to multi-task and work in
    changing environment while remaining focused on near term deliverables.
  • Excellent written and oral
    communication skills; a Power Point wizard
  • Budget management experience preferred.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Proven track record in meeting project milestones and negotiating for resources.
  • BS/BA or equivalent experience and 8-10 years of related experience

Additional Job Information:
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Proven ability to satisfy customers needs and develop alternatives to resolve issues.
