Manages mentors and directs individual teams responsible for contract preparation, entity licensing and legal affairs/risk management matters for a Third party Administrator. Develops, trains, evaluates, and coaches staff. Continually assesses individual and team performance against key business objectives and provides candid and timely developmental feedback.


Fundamental Components:
Consults on compliance and legal issues impacting the business and provides direction on compliance implementation. Interfaces and negotiates with state and federal regulators, legal counsel and external clients on Meritain Health business requirements and regulatory compliance. Recommends and assists business areas to implement compliance controls. Provides proactive notification to business areas of regulatory requirements and changes. Trains and evaluates staff development needs and constructs individual development plans. Provides effective communication and promotes proactive working relationships with internal and external customers, regulators and all other areas within Meritain and Aetna. Works closely with attorneys and compliance staff to promote and enforce compliance with state/federal laws and regulations; implements risk management policies. Builds, maintains and promotes positive and effective working relationships with internal and external clients. Negotiates contract revisions with Customers, resolves business compliance conflicts and product changes with internal business clients and regulators to achieve business objectives and obtain regulatory approvals within aggressive timelines. Trains, educates and enforces regulatory requirements and company policies. Consults on compliance issues and regulatory requirements impacting the business and provides direction on compliance implementation and controls. Reviews and analyzes legislative and product development materials. Manages priorities to reflect initiatives of Core and Regional management. Implements Best Practice Policies. (*)


Background Experience:
3-5 years recent and related experience required. Effective time management, organizational and prioritization skills. Able to effectively motivate others and lead change and innovation. Strong attention to detail and accuracy performing at high levels in a fast paced and constantly changing work environment. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook applications.
