Informatics Analyst, AMA Appeal and Grievance Systems

Under direct supervision, conducts analyses or produces reports of appeal and grievance healthcare data to assist in the assessment of health and economic outcomes.





Fundamental Components:
  • Produces results including, but not limited to: lists, reports, graphical summaries and statistical tests.
  • Preference given for knowledge of SAS/SQL code.
  • Extracts appeal and grievance healthcare data from multiple sources and creates integrated analytic data sets.
  • Performs the following aspects of data analysis: programming, data management, data acquisition and documentation).
  • Assesses data and analyzes quality to identify and correct data issues.
  • Documents methods, specifications, and results clearly.
  • Communicates information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develops efficient reporting applications and processes.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team and under direct supervision


  • Background Experience:
    • One or more years of programming, or data analysis experience, knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Prefer SQL and SAS programming skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Understanding of relational databases, data systems and data warehouses.
    • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access

    This is a diverse team
    responsible for oversight and supporting all Aetna Medicaid Administrator's
    Medicaid health plans. It is an excellent opportunity to learn appeal and
