The CVS Health Developer Advocacy Team is hiring technologists that are passionate about transformation and have a keen eye for Security and Operations. We are looking for passionate developer advocates/evangelists with expertise in several of the following core technical Hybrid Cloud competencies:
  • Containers/Docker/Kubernetes

Developer Advocates are responsible for tackling difficult technical concepts and creating useful content, educational material, and application refactoring. You are skilled in the art of facilitating, training, and Architectures with a passion for helping developers become the heroes and heroines of their organizations. They maintain knowledge of industry trends, and passionately renew and extend their technical domain expertise.
You continuously and thoughtfully strive to be a key member of your local tech community. Along these lines, you will represent CVS at the internal Architecture Guild at events, and will host workshops for internal partners.
You will participant in meetups, the open source community and conferences, and should be able to gaze into the crystal ball of technology, discern the future, and aggressively pursue it.

You have a deeply rooted mission and responsibility to serve the developer community and are committed to helping any given developer or customer to be successful at what they are trying to accomplish and genuinely care about developer success.
As a Developer Advocate, you are committed to providing engineering guidance for the Hybrid Cloud based on your experiences across developer communities, and when necessary, facilitate customer interactions with the relevant parts of CVS.

You will also demonstrate an intimate understanding of industry and technology trends and articulate a strategic vision with assistance from senior leaders.


Fundamental Components:
Manages technology strategy, direction, management and support of business systems delivery. Collects requirements for approved projects and aggregates resource demand by supplier and by role. Acts as the primary technical resource across several areas of expertise, to senior client and information technology management and staff. Provides expert technical consultation to senior IT management strategic planning groups. Leads development of solutions with highly complexity and risk with business area implications. Fosters and engages in teamwork at the highest management and technical levels across business lines. Anticipates and proactively responds to future customer, industry and information technology trends. Be viewed as subject matter and delivery expert for organization by wide range of management. Develops and implement technology strategies that influence business area with senior management review. Develops annual operating budget with senior management consistent with demand for services, monitors actual expenditures and deviations from budget and takes corrective action if needed. Develops business models to guide development of the architecture and manage standard technical products life cycle according to APLC. Communicates the architectural strategy throughout all levels of the organization. Produces quality output for highly visible IT products, services and future business development.

Background Experience:
-7+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.

-Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

--5 Years of experience presenting to technical audiences like developers, developer managers, and engineers.

-3 years of experience presenting to senior leaders and executive audiences.
-Fluent in a broad range of developer technologies like OpenShift, PCF, Kubernetes, Java, Python, Ruby, Jupyter notebooks, Jenkins, NodeJS etc.

-Comfortable working in Cloud-native platforms like GCP, Azure, AWS, etc.

-Several years of mentoring and growing junior developers or engineers
