Lead Data Scientist

Fundamental Components:
Responsible for development and delivery of predictive analytics solutions to drive behavior change and customer experience across channels. Lead a team of 3 to 8 Data Scientists in delivering predictive analytics solutions to drive customer engagement, next-best-action, and improve customer experience across critical journeys. Consult with business partners to understand problems and goals, understand business value, and translate into business opportunities to be captured through predictive analytics solutions. Develop and use advanced algorithms and statistical predictive models to determine analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes. Drive experimental design of campaigns across multiple channels, i.e., web, mobile app, email, social, Apple watch, in partnership with marketing stakeholders. Evaluate campaign performance for further optimization in subsequent iterations. Develop and participate in presentations and consultations to business stakeholders on analytics results and solutions. Develop and build relationship with external clients and with Aetna leadership team. Contribute Subject Matter Expertise (SME) through interactions with team members, peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization. Provide coaching and mentoring to junior level data scientists. This is a Telework opportunity.

Background Experience:
Master’s degree in Statistics, Math, Engineering or a scientific related field.

Minimum two years of data science or research experience performing predictive analytic solutions for healthcare industry. Must have experience working with mathematical analysis; statistical analyses; and experimental design specialization; working with business partners to understand problems and translate in business opportunities captured through predictive analytics solutions; performing hyper-parameter tuning and cross-validation with machine learning algorithms including supervised learning, clustering and natural language processing. Must have experience working with the following: R, Python and SAS for data manipulation, modeling, regressions, time series and geospatial analysis; data management in Hadoop including Hive and IBM data studio; deploying prediction models through H20, Scikit-Learn, Pyspark and Sparklyr; and data visualization implementing Tableau, ggplot2, and matplotlib.
