Community Development Manager, Medicaid

Primary Location: San Diego, CA
Additional Locations: CA-Los Angeles, CA-Sacramento, CA-San Diego, CA-Thousand Oaks
Travel within California, focused on the southern region, with availability to travel out of state when needed.
Provides support for significant product initiatives. May independently manage midsize product enhancements. Demonstrated project management skills, with knowledge of product and systems.

Fundamental Components:
Stakeholder Engagement: Leads the development and management of stakeholder engagement initiatives that help identify the unique SDoH needs of the assigned region.
Cultivates relationships with community-based organizations, advocacy and civic/community leaders throughout an assigned area or state. Researches social safety net providers (community based and other) in order to create unique partnership opportunities. Identify creative gap-fill strategies and opportunities for investment with state and regional leadership as dictated by available social safety net and public health statistics.

Acts as the lead for all sponsorship and event opportunities in assigned region including event logistics including reserving space, catering, communication, distributing materials, facilities support, and other similar activities.

Assures proper documentation for membership and leader driven activities and events. Gives individual or group presentations to potential sponsors and members.

Social Investment: Advances social investment strategy in consultation with internal leadership; ensuring accountability with organizational recipients and provide technical guidance to potential applicants on project design, sustainability effectiveness, and achievement of outcomes.
Establishes and plugs into regional community planning efforts through state DHCS meetings and coalition meetings.

Internal Business Coordination: Consult with various internal teams and other staff to build SDoH strategies for assigned region. Collects and reports on innovative practices in California to share across Aetna, promoting through marketing, and elevating to national organizations.

Focus Groups: May participate and/or conduct focus group sessions in support of growth and SdoH strategy.

Other Components
Ensures accurate prioritization of key projects and programs within purview.
Demonstrated project management skills.
In-depth understanding of the Medicaid managed care environment.

Performs other duties as assigned

Background Experience:
Education – A Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, social services or related field required.

1 year of experience in proven success working in community advocacy and/or “grass roots” advocacy efforts to achieve results required.

Additional Job Information:
Project management skills.In-depth understanding of the regulatory environment.
