DevSecOps Lead - 71293BR

Primary Location: Plymouth, Minnesota
Additional Locations: MI-Lansing, MN-Plymouth, NY-Amherst
The DevSecOps Facilitator is responsible for bridging the gap between Meritain's DevSecOps vision and the on-the-ground realities of our development and operations teams. The successful candidate will understand and embrace the foundational aspects of DevSecOps and will seek opportunities to actively facilitate improvements towards those ideals. While our IT teams are busy delivering on their commitments, the DevSecOps Facilitator will ensure the teams are also improving towards our DevSecOps goals. The selected individual will be the face of DevSecOps for all of the IT teams.

Fundamental Components:
  • Working with IT teams to identify areas for improvement based on the DevSecOps organizational vision.
  • Working with IT teams to make plans to implement the improvements, providing hands-on facilitation of DevSecOps improvements in coordination with the teams' existing work management processes, identifying/documenting/knocking down roadblocks to success, and ensuring the teams achieve their objectives.
  • Developing a method for tracking DevSecOps improvement efforts for every team and encouraging success through definition of performance goals.
  • Communicating stories of success and learning.
  • Proactively and consistently providing updates on progress.
  • Tactfully and positively holding teams accountable for continuous improvement, working to understand barriers to progress and knocking them down.
  • Working with teams and sub-teams to build maturity models that are aligned with the spirit of DevSecOps but that conform to the real needs of each team.
  • Connecting teams with educational resources as needed.
  • Bringing in outside technical resources where necessary.
  • Helping to design training opportunities as needs arise.
  • Applying knowledge and experience to improve Meritain's DevSecOps future state vision.

Background Experience:
  • 5 years’ experience with Automated Testing
  • 5 years’ demonstrated experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery
  • 3 years’ experience using Infrastructure as Code and Production Monitoring
  • 3 years’ experience using Agile methodology
  • Exposure to containers
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Additional Job Information:
Knowledge of Industry Systems/Software Engineering processes and techniques. Strong leadership skills. Full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Technical knowledge of various high level programming languages and program development software. In-depth knowledge of system and technology alternatives, as well as the system development life cycle. Extensive knowledge of the business area's function and systems. Ability to work effectively with business areas and IT management and staff. Strong judgment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
