Position Summary:

The Senior Clinical Solutions Behavioral Health Medical Director, reporting to the VP/CMO of Medicaid, will collaborate with Aetna National Medicaid, Regional VP and health plan leadership to identify, develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of key behavioral health strategic initiatives including trends, policies and programs, designed to drive the delivery of high value healthcare supporting a sustainable competitive business advantage for Aetna.

In this role, the selected individual will Partner with our internal stakeholders to advocate, promote and champion the vision and values that suffuse our model of care; identify cross-functional interdependencies and operational efficiencies in areas of behavioral health utilization, care and quality management.

The selected individual will serve as the behavioral health brand ambassador to key stakeholders. This position will support new business development opportunities through development of response for request for proposals; meeting and collaboration with stakeholders nationally and local state markets to provider initiatives to community wide forums open to advocates, and community-based organizations; and networking with “thought-leaders” nationally and bringing innovations to Aetna Medicaid.

Work At Home Position if not located in Phoenix, AZ.

Key areas of responsibility include but not limited to:
Creating and implementing behavioral health strategy including vision and goal setting, team growth, value capture, and operational excellence
Providing behavioral health expertise and influence across teams as well as externally to ensure aligned, cohesive progress across technology, marketing and service operations
Working closely with data analytics team and develops specific actions to manage behavioral health and medical cost trends
Educating and enhancing relationships within the provider community, including individual providers and groups

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE
2-3 years of experience in Health Care Delivery System e.g., Clinical Practice and Health Care Industry.

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a MD or DO.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Active unrestricted state medical license required
Board Certification in Aetna recognized specialty required
