Senior Architect - Analytics, BI, Big Data

Primary Location: Phoenix, Arizona

Senior Architect in the Office of the CTO delivering information architecture solutions to meet business goals and objectives resulting in exceeding customer expectations.

The role includes performing a Senior Information Architect role for complex mission critical projects. This will involve large new/existing databases in Big Data and traditional technologies, advanced modeling techniques, complex source-to-target mapping, source data profiling, etc.

Fundamental Components:
The role is responsible for creating, enhancing, supporting, and maintaining architectural integrity of the information within designated Systems of Insight by delivering the information architecture using established best practices.

Recognized as an expert and a leader throughout the IT community. As an individual contributor, this position has no direct line management responsibilities but is a key contributor to the success of mission critical, complex, typically large, often enterprise-wide major architecture projects and innovations.

Delivers the information architecture for insights-based solutions and incorporates project features into specific system, application or process designs solutions. Position requires considerable knowledge of domain processes, and architectures. Demonstrated understanding of industry and technology trends and best practices and articulates a strategic vision with the assistance from management.


-6+ years of experience in information architecture methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
-Experience with industry leading modeling tools such as IBM InfoSphere Data Architect (IDA) and Erwin.
-Experience with various information modeling techniques including entity-relationship modeling, dimensional modeling, service interface modeling, metamodels, and data flow diagrams.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentations at all levels of management, combined with strong collaboration/influencing ability. Ability to effectively communicate the data architecture to all levels of the organization.
-Ability to produce quality project documentation as per relevant project methodology, in addition to documenting modeling approaches and assumptions as well as any special processes followed, as needed.
-Works (collaborates) effectively within project teams and across technical domains, with BAs, Solution Architects and other technical resources.
-Ability to support multiple concurrent project assignments
-Familiarity with Data Architecture Design for Big Data Environments
-Knowledge of APIs and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) helpful but not mandatory
-Knowledge of Healthcare, Insurance is desirable
-Familiarity with and ability to support projects using waterfall, Agile and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.

The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
