Vocational Case Manager Workers Compensation

We are seeking self-motivated,energetic, detail oriented, highly organized, tech-savvy Registered Nurses to join our Workers’ Compensation Field Case Management team. This opportunity offers a competitive salary, full benefits, and a performance-based bonus paid out on a monthly or quarterly basis. Responsible for analyzing an injured worker to evaluate wage earning capacity via thorough medical and employment records review and via in-person meeting with client. Identifies potential positions with area employers to demonstrate availability of work. Acts as a liaison with employer, insurance company, and attorneys to develop Labor Market Surveys. Provides testimony before Industrial Accident Board regarding findings of Labor Market Survey. Provides ongoing consistent communication with all parties.

Fundamental Components:
Assesses and analyzes an injured workers vocational status; develops a plan of care to facilitate appropriate and timely return to work for job placement services. Develops Labor Market Surveys to demonstrate availability of suitable positions. Conducts vocational testing, job site analysis, job development, counseling and placement to manage injured worker's return to work status; monitors progress toward desired outcomes through assessment and evaluation. Communicates both in-person and telephonically with injured worker, medical providers, attorneys, employers and insurance carriers; prepares all required documentation of case work activities. Adheres to all laws and regulations that apply to the provision of rehabilitation services in the State of Delaware; applies all special instructions required by individual insurance carriers and referral sources. Testifies as required to substantiate any relevant case work or reports. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Background Experience:

3 years case management experience required.

3 years Vocational rehab experience is required.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team
Experience with providing testimony before the state Workers Compensation Court (Delaware Industrial Accident Board)
Proficiency with standard corporate software applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, as well as some special proprietary applications. Must be proficient with using a computer and smart phone.

Ability to travel locally as required, out of state travel may be required occasionally.

Knowledge of workers compensation and disability industry.
Knowledge of laws and regulations governing delivery of rehabilitation services.

Effective communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Must reside in Delaware state.

Bachelor's degree in a closely-related field required, Master's degree is preferred.


Additional national professional certification (CRC, CDMS, CRRN, or CCM) preferred, but not required, but must be willing to pursue after one year of employment)

Additional Job Information:

This is a fast paced position in which the vocational case manager will participate in marketing events to drive new referrals, will perform job searches per directions of each referral, conduct a comprehensive Labor Market Survey that reflects the job searches, will visit employers to verify availability of the job, will develop a job analysis of each job and will provide testimony in court regarding the findings of the Labor Market Survey. Job placement, earning capacity assessments and case management may also be needed, depending on needs of the customer. This is not a 9-5 job, there are situations when additional time will be required to complete rush requests for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Delaware workers compensation laws and the Delaware court system. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor. This position requires frequent testimony, the ideal candidate will be comfortable going to court and providing testimony before the Industrial Accident Board. The ideal candidate will regularly research the local job market to identify available positions, will reach out to local employers to verify availability of jobs, will develop an accurate job analysis of each position. This position will start as a part time position at 20 hours per week with growth potential to increase to full time (40 hours per week) as referrals and caseload dictate.
