Position Summary:
Responsible for maintaining business and technical knowledge with respect to Aetna products, programs, services, policies, systems, and pricing methodologies. Supports all technical initiatives, as well as identify inefficiencies within the team/company, and develop solutions for improvement. They work primarily on the complex and high visibility cases and markets.

Fundamental Components:
Aetna International is looking for a Senior Strategy Consultant to champion the development of our customer-focused, strategically oriented proposals that focus on our global proposition, financial positioning, product offerings, network access, and the Aetna Value Story. The International Business Solutions team is a newly formed team that brings together Sales Support, Marketing and Product. Joining forces with these teams will allow you to be creative, strategize, design and deliver innovative proposals. This role supports our growth ambitions in the Aetna International, Americas region.
What you'll do:
Evaluates, manages and oversees the most complex and/or high visibility cases, identifies risks and recommends appropriate measures to manage risks while growing or retaining membership. Independently develops and executes proposal strategy for assigned cases. Distributes strategy agenda and leads the discussion of agenda points in a collaborative effort with Sales and Underwriting team members. Provides summary of the strategy call, identifies deliverables, and establishes timeframes for completion of deliverables. Gathers information from source systems to complete the most complex RFPs, which may include network statistical data, questionnaire responses, statistical facts, sample materials required for the RFP including standard reports supplied to plan sponsor, product brochures, ID cards, etc. Manages RFP response by coordinating with appropriate areas of the organization to ensure timeliness and quality of RFP. Facilitates plan design review and preparation of deviation documents. Solicits appropriate network access reports. Requests responses to non-standard questions. Oversees all required RFP follow-up, including responding to additional questions, clarification of original responses, and recalculation of fees. Responds to requests to redesign strategy including product and program changes and/or funding arrangements. Produces accurate fees and financial documents by interpreting and applying underwriting policies to position the financial response within set authority levels. Serves as the project manager on assigned projects, managing multiple priorities, anticipating customer needs and assisting others to meet established service standards.


Background Experience Desired:
- 3 to 5 years of RFP project management experience, involving complex proposals.
- Must be organized and efficient, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and negotiate across the business and in the external health care environment.
- Must enjoy working in a fast paced, team environment and be adaptable to changing priorities.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.

Education:
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
