Sr. Director, reporting to VP, Provider & Network Analytics, will be responsible for building and directing analytics that are critical to the identification, prioritization and implementation of medium and long-term opportunities to create value through new assets. Value is defined as medical cost savings, consumer experience, and revenue (both insurance-related and non-traditional). The Sr. Director will collaborate cross-functionally to set a strategy for medium and long-term value capture, prioritize and design initiatives/ programs (also through the use of predictive modeling), support implementation and measure performance through rigorous statistical methods.
The Sr. Director of Transformation Analytics will initially lead a team of 15+ people including managers.
Partners with Transformation and Institutional Business leadership to understand key business questions and objectives; translating questions and objectives into well-defined analytics proposals to achieve business strategy.
Sets the strategic direction for how to identify medium and long-term value capture opportunities across levers impacting medical cost savings, consumer experience, and revenue.
Develops a pipeline of opportunities to capture value through strategic analytics solutions across products, segments and clients, directing the resolution of highly complex and strategic business problems.
Partners with internal organizations to prioritize opportunities, ensure that initiatives are translated into programs, and impact is monitored.
Provides strategic leadership and proactively recommends innovative research techniques through deep knowledge and leadership in machine learning, statistical analysis, transaction, and social data to model drivers of consumer behavior and understand what would be required to change.
Sets business priorities and executes plans including: tracking of initiatives, prioritizing, managing analytics implementation initiatives, budgets and stakeholder expectations.
Sets the direction on the development of statistical/ analytical procedures, processes, policies, experiment design, performance monitoring reports and KPIs to optimize learning.
Manages and builds a strong team through formal training, diverse assignments, proactive coaching, mentoring and other development techniques.
Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals.
Presents and makes recommendations to senior leaders and existing and prospective constituents on information services, capabilities and performance results.
Minimum 12 years total business experience
6+ years of leadership experience overseeing an analytics/data science team.
6+ years of executive client interfacing experience (internal or external), demonstrating excellent ability to communicate technical ideas and results to non-technical clients in written and verbal form, and reliable executive presence.
Excellent strategic thinking capabilities with ability to derive insight and recommendations from data.
Advanced in-depth specialization in mathematical analysis methods, predictive modeling, statistical analyses, machine learning, and big data technologies such as Python, R, and Hadoop. Demonstrated ability to build large scale machine learning models.
Extensive experience in the healthcare industry, and familiarity with claims and other healthcare data. Experience with healthcare providers strongly preferred.
Experience with experiment design, and latest researches/findings in the field of behavioral economic preferred.
Experience in consulting required.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.
