POSITION SUMMARY

A Systems Engineer position focusing on the delivery, optimization and scalability of the Middleware Products and Reporting Tools in the Big Data and Hadoop Platforms with an emphasis on supporting the roadmap for next generation infrastructure and predictive analytics.

Fundamental Components:
Discover and deploy insights that will enable Aetna 's software development and support organizations to achieve industry-leading levels of efficiency, quality and speed to market. Assess, develop and support new and emerging products and technologies supporting Advanced Tooling, Ticketing, Data Modeling, Middleware and Engineering for data ingestion, data transformation, application development, dashboards and reporting. Present insights and capabilities clearly to IT decision-makers and Leaders linking findings with business objectives to power process and product improvement. Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving difficult problems. Design, code, instrument, automate and document processes. Ability to engage cross organizationally to solve and support business issues and requirements, promote change, carve out new technology and build strong vendor relationships. Participates in the development of project plans and timelines. Contributes to a motivated work environment by working effectively to achieve common goals.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired

-1-3 years of Linux Systems experience

-4-6 years Administrative System Support for hardware

-1-3 years Application maintenance support

- Development tooling competencies including architecture, standards, deployment and management of software.
-Understanding of development life cycle and tooling supporting agile infrastructure.
- Good working knowledge of information security standards and guidelines.
-
Exposure to Hadoop, Data Stage, IIS & Big Integrate, Nifi, Kafka, reporting tools including Tableau, Datameer, AtScale, SAS, and cloud technologies a plus.
-Problem Solving skills

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
