Designs HCB level and cross-functional strategies and strategic programs to address the future of the organization. This work results in initiatives that significantly impact company strategy enabling Aetna to be competitive in the marketplace and effectively serve its customers. Accountable for facilitating the development of HCB, shared services and business unit strategic plans and the identification of initiatives necessary to achieve organizational growth objectives. Responsible for providing guidance and direction to senior business leadership and cross-functional team members as required in support of strategic initiatives.



Fundamental Components:
Oversees multiple, interdependent projects / programs that span multiple business units. Accountable for the success of the projects. Provides leadership and strategic direction to multiple matrix
teams who development holistic strategy and strategic solutions for Aetna and Business Units. Influences all stakeholders to support key projects/programs to ensure positive outcomes. Communicates compelling and concise concepts while proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and independently influences business leader(s). Accountable for transferring knowledge, best practices (external and internal), methodology and tools to client organizations. Provides management guidance and oversight in the selection and use of long term external consulting engagements. Provides continuous coaching, direction, feedback and development for other consultants, matrixed staff and/or external vendors as required.

Background Experience:
Business operations and / or strategy development and execution including experience with enterprise-wide and/or cross-functional large scale initiatives with high degree of complexity.
Demonstrated relationship management skills at the senior level; capacityto quickly build and maintain credible relationships at varying levels of theorganization simultaneously.
Demonstrated leadership with relevant initiatives: Business process,enterprise business project management/consulting, financial strategicplanning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, riskmanagement.Demonstrated experience successfully implementing change in complex
organizations.15+ years experience with several of the following methodologies: financial strategic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic business planning, and/or risk management consulting management consulting, business operations.

Additional Job Information:
The role is highly matrixed working with a variety of business and functional owners within the Aetna business unit and across the enterprise.
