As a Sr Underwriting Associate in the Government Services Actuarial and Underwriting organization, you will perform accurate analysis and risk assessment to produce sound financial responses/products in a timely manner. Provides superior service in support of writing and/or renewing Aetna's group Medicare Advantage business. The individuals will be required to produce accurate and timely proposals and renewals for Aetna's Public and Labor Sector, National Accounts, and Key and Select Medicare Advantage customers. This role will give the candidate an opportunity to help drive membership and earnings as part the growing Government Services organization and continue to develop Aetna's Medicare Advantage products.

Fundamental Components

·Performs underwriting analysis and risk assessment for new and/or renewal of large group contracts andaccountings.

·Prepares and delivers new business quotes and/or existing business renewals and/or accountings.

·Applies underwriting guidelines and escalates underwriting exceptions/financial variances for their assigned cases to the appropriate level.

·Assists sales personnel in explaining rate/fee,accounting balance development and communicating underwriting policy

·Produces timely and accurate customer specific documents, deliverables and accounting related information.

Background/Experience:

·1-3 years’ experience in underwriting/accounting concepts, pricing methodologies and funding arrangements.

·Experience in underwriting fully insured pricing methodologies (manual, experience, blended, etc.) is preferred but not required.

·Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills.

·Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations.

·Experience working with standard Microsoft Office product.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Telework Specifications:
Position is open to Part-time Telework (3 days office-based).Option for telework will be evaluated after a certain period of employment.
