Sr Markets Communication Consultant

We have an exciting opportunity in our Local Markets for a Senior Communications Consultant to develop our communications strategy that will enhance our reputation and support the growth of our business in key local markets. The ideal candidate is a highly energetic and enthusiastic communicator with strong business acumen and depth of experience working with internal and external audiences and in crisis situations

Fundamental Components:
In this role, you will act as a key communications resource for business leader(s) or enterprise initiative, identifying and solving complex problems, developing new solutions and recommendations based on your experience, intuition and audience insight.

Primary Responsibilities:•Develop and execute a proactive integrated communications strategy that aligns with enterprise and market-specific business priorities.

•Leverage local market assets, including leadership bench, Foundation and other corporate social responsibility activities, Government Affairs, Marketing, etc. as appropriate to bolster the company’s reputation.
•Serve as a strategic communications advisor to local market leadership teams.
•Develop communications strategies and plans using best practices, innovative ideas and audience insights.
•Demonstrate strategic understanding and execution of an omnichannel approach to achieve communications objectives.
•Identify and engage internal and external stakeholders whose support is needed to accomplish goals.
•Deepen relationships with members of the media and other stakeholders who influence public perception of the company in local markets.
•Ensure consistent messaging in all communications and across all audiences.
•Establish a system of measurement that captures market-specific results, while identifying best practices and areas for improvement.
•Understand local market nuances and execute hyper-local strategies to support business goals.
•Develop and execute rapid response messaging for internal and external audiences on incidents, issues and potential crises to mitigate negative impact on local market reputation
•Serve as a company spokesperson.
•Manage agency relationship(s) at the regional/local level.
•Partner with enterprise business leads to understand our evolving priorities, and if/how they would resonate in target markets.

Background Experience:

•4-7 years in a business communications role; corporate and/or agency experience a plus.
•Comfortable working in fast-paced, matrixed environment and providing counsel to executives in Fortune 10 company is a must.
•Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with other communication professionals toward a common goal.
•Background in a health care or insurance organization a plus.
•Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
•Organized and detail-oriented with an ability to multi-task.
•Ability to work collaboratively across a complex organization.
