Sr Informatics AnalystPrimary Location: Hartford, Connecticut

Selected candidate/s will be acquiring and integrating supplemental data from providers to support Aetna's Medicare Stars and HEDIS programs. In addition, the selected candidates will provide ongoing business support for the provider portfolio including but not limited to performing ongoing analytics, researching provider and customer inquiries, and coordinating various audit-related tasks with internal and external teams
The Sr.Informatics Analyst will be part of a team that provides external data acquisition and integration services to support Aetna's Medicare and National Quality Measures programs. The ideal candidate will work directly with health care providers around the country to acquire health care data that will be used to help assess provider and Aetna health plan effectiveness. The Sr. Informatics Analyst will leverage their healthcare data knowledge and technical skill to provide a combination of project management, analytic, research and consultative support to a wide variety of internal and external constituents of varying levels and disciplines. In addition, they will have the opportunity to learn many new tools, expand their clinical knowledge and be part of a team providing an extremely important and visible service.
Experience working in a healthcare setting either within a provider health system or health insurance company is required.
Strong knowledge of and experience working with healthcare data including but not limited to claims, testing results and pharmacy data is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required as is the ability to present information to various audiences.
Demonstrated analytical and excellent problem-solving skills are required.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
Experience working within a provider EMR (electronic medical records) system or working with EMR data is highly desirable.
Experience supporting HEDIS, MEDICARE STARS or Quality Management in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Strong data querying skills using tools such as SQL or SAS Enterprise Guide is highly recommended.
Experience preparing dashboards and preparing and presenting data using a data visualization tool such as Tableau is highly recommended.
Understanding of relational databases, data systems and data warehouses ideal.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Telework considered only for unique circumstances. Candidates can be based at any of the following (3) locations: Hartford, Ct, Bluebell, Pa and/or Phoenix, Az.

This position will allow the unique opportunity to perform a variety of different roles including: project management, serving as liaison between internal and external entities, data querying and reporting, quality assurance, research, data presentation/creation of dashboards and presenting information. The SR. Informatics Analyst will work directly with business staff as well as application developers and will have exposure to a wide variety of interesting projects and toolsets.
