Aetna's mandate is to transform health and wellness via products that enable consumer engagement and a best-in-class experience. This team is responsible for Aetna's digital strategy and all digital products; as well as the development roadmap and execution of the roadmap. A key part of this team is to build an integrated platform and underlying products to drive engagement and revolutionize health and wellness.

Aetna is taking on a major initiative to redesign and rebuild many of its customer facing digital assets. This effort will include a completely new approach to developing software within Aetna, using the latest design approaches, technologies, and processes. Aetna Digital is a newly formed startup like business unit within Aetna, which will design, build and deliver a completely new and integrated digital experience for our users.

Fundamental Components:
Aetna Digital is looking for a Sr. Implementation Manager to join our team.

Creates and manages cross-functional project plan development and Business Needs Assessment (BNA) creation, execution, and alignment/synergies. Understands technical aspects and details of execution, conducts process improvement, serves as subject matter expert for business on special projects. May oversee reporting/database and manage larger complex projects.

Maintains mastery-level understanding of Aetna/business unit strategy, customers, healthcare, and regulatory environment, as well as product vision/strategy. Converts product strategy into high level implementation plan. Solves customer needs, creates robust high-level business requirements, and delivers on product vision/strategy taking into account linkages between systems, technical/systems implications, and anticipating changes/resolving barriers. Articulates product and technical strategy to key business partners during product development and requirement sessions. Ensure traceability to BNA and alignment with product vision. Represents product implementation to senior management. Elevates risks, communicates dependencies, and recommends alternative solutions in timely manner that allows for mitigation and/or strategic reaction. Works effectively across business areas by building and leveraging strong relationships. Identifies and mobilizes cross-functional support required to achieve business objectives, including areas of tactical and strategic support. May oversee the management of multiple competing products/projects with effective prioritization and eye for detail. Responsible for end result. Serves as product expert, and leverages all resources available to achieve objectives.

Background Experience:
7+ years related cross-functional, project management experience.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; typically advanced degree.
