Senior Underwriting Consultant

Primary Location: Hartford, Connecticut

Description:
Support both new business and renewal case specific ASC (self-insured) Pharmacy pricing. The Pharmacy underwriter will be responsible for developing financial offers that are both competitive and profitable. The underwriter will also support with financial responses to Request for Proposal questionnaires.


Fundamental Components:
Provides underwriting support for new business quotes, renewals, reporting and/or specialized functions. Analyzes input/outputs for reasonability. Utilizes financial tools, reference materials, and source systems to ensure accurate pricing, guarantee reconciliation/validation, and tracking. Requests additional information as necessary and explains needs. Maintains integrity of source data and/or reporting data systems. Identifies and collects information critical to decision making.



Background Experience:
5-7 years’ experience in underwriting/accounting pricing methodologies and funding arrangements. Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations. Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills. Demonstrated success prioritizing work and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with standard Microsoft Office products. Experience providing clear and concise written and verbal communications. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Strong math aptitude and decision making skills are essential. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex information in simplified terms.
