Senior Data Scientist - 71640BRPrimary Location: Hartford, Connecticut

71640Fundamental Components: Participate in validation and delivery of algorithms, statistical models and reporting tools. Maintain and update existing data analytic process models, and reports. Solve complex analytical problems, develop and use algorithms and statistical/ machine learning predictive models on health care data. Determine analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes. Perform analyses of structured and unstructured health care data to solve multiple and complex business problems utilizing advanced statistical/ machine learning techniques, mathematical analyses and broad knowledge of the organization. Design evaluation frameworks and perform program evaluations on health care programs. Work with business partners to understand their problems and goals in order to design analytical solutions strategy. Develop and participate in presentations and consultations to existing and prospective constituents on analytics results and solutions. Engage with internal and external peers and managers to exchange complex information related to areas of specialization. Background Experience: Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
Minimum 1 year of experience implementing end to end analytical solutions to solve complex business problems using mathematical analysis, statistical/machine learning algorithms and probability models. Must have experience with: building supervised and unsupervised statistical/machine learning algorithms; designing and performing program evaluations including A/ B Testing, propensity score matching; conducting data manipulation, data cleansing, data transformations, feature engineering, text mining and building scalable algorithms; and managing large data sets using SQL and performing query optimization to expedite data extraction. Must also have experience with SAS and R.
