We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who can work across functional teams to provide Part D subject matter expertise (SME) on a wide variety of project assignments related to Aetna pharmacy products. The selected candidate should be able to effectively convey verbally and in writing appropriate root cause analysis and solutions using a wide variety of available tools and guidance. The selected candidate will work across the business segment researching CMS guidance, platform capabilities, filing requirements, as achieving other internal business needs, such as creating Policies & Procedures, testing Medicare Plan Finder, reviewing Aetna Medicare web-based material, testing broker tools, etc.

Fundamental Components:
Medicare Part D Product has a myriad of projects resulting from the recent acquisition and divestiture of Part D business. This has led to the need for an addition to staff for the purposes of working across organizational lines on various topics that require the selected candidate to become a subject-matter-expert on CMS guidance, knowledge of Aetna system platforms (e.g., HMO, DX, NextGen), HPMS, various drug pricing tools, collection of competitive intelligence, review of marketing and member materials for accuracy and many other deliverable functions of the Product department. Candidate must be able to identify/analyze root causes and solve problems. Must achieve high degree of competency interacting with downstream partners and entities, such as Caremark (PBM), Rx Operations, Marketing, Compliance, IT, Legal and other areas as needed. Work collaboratively with individual SMEs and across functional lines to assure desired results.

Other responsibilities include:
Directing/developing product development strategy for multiple groups of products including: - sales - competitive positioning - marketing - underwriting guidelines and policy - distribution - pricing.
Responsible for product design, which includes establishing key features, product performance standards, cost benefit, pricing strategy, market opportunity, competitive positioning, and resource assessment /allocation.
Provide technical assistance and consultation to project managers.
Manage special projects that impact the entire organization.
Ensure effective internal and external communication with all stakeholders regarding product development process. Maintain comprehensive understanding of internal and external environmental influences.

Background Experience:
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of Medicare with a working knowledge of Part D in either an operational, compliance or IT role. It is expected that the incumbent will have strong Medicare experience in one or more functional areas, with at least some Part D knowledge and experience. Strong technical skills are a must, as is a direct communications style, disciplined project management skills and proficient business experience to assure that issues are resolved timely and effectively. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
