61985Fundamental Components: As a Medicare Sr Underwriting Consultant, individuals will:
-Serves as a consultant for field sales and account management on strategic large employer groups.
-Calculates complex renewal and prospective group rates using solid product knowledge and underwriting protocols.
-Diagnoses product offering situations and makes strategic recommendations for benefit designs and pricing positions.
-Grants underwriting exception and financial variances within prescribed dollar limits.
-Negotiates and fully explains rate development, pricing components, and application of underwriting policies.
-Presents information to employers and brokers in support of business rating practices.
-Ensures the quality and integrity of account-specific data and information released to the sales force.
-Utilizes advanced functionality of rating/financial tools, reference materials, and source systems for premium, membership, and claim information.
-Analyzes competitive position on a case specific basis and develops financial comparisons.
-May lead process improvement initiatives. Background Experience: 5-7 years’ experience in underwriting/accounting pricing methodologies and funding arrangements. Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to meet/exceed expectations. Demonstrated ability to utilize analytical and independent thinking skills. Demonstrated success prioritizing work and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with standard Microsoft Office products. Experience providing clear and concise written and verbal communications. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
