IT Senior Project Manager

Description:
We are looking for an IT Senior Project Manager, with scrum master experience, to join the Activation Change Team. This team is part of Aetna’s IT Software Delivery Modernization Program (SDM), a transformational program delivering business value by driving cost optimization, process efficiency, and cultural improvements in the way Aetna IT delivers IT solutions.
The Scaled Agile Framework is the foundation of the SDM program, and the IT delivery model. The Activation Change Team works with the communities of practice to implement process and practice changes.
In service of this mission, the IT Senior Project Manager is responsible for applying SAFe principles and framework to help direct exciting transformational process change initiatives. The Activation Change Team members interfaces and collaborates with Change Initiative Leads and Teams resident within the five SDM communities of practice (COPs). This role requires a broad blend of experience and passionate interest in creative development, process & workflow management, project management methodologies and Agile coaching.



Fundamental Components:
Enjoy working closely with creative & technical-minded colleagues and being in the middle of helping cross-functional teams conceptually generate and execute interactive ideas in a usable, useful and compelling form.

Thrive on defining and continuously evolving creative-centric agile workflow standards, solutions, and best practices.

Work collaboratively with the SDM teams in the development, and implementation of the SDM program initiatives. The focus is to introduce the changes in an effective, non-intrusive manner.

Work with the team identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the iteration goal, and oversee and manage Agile tools.

Work with the team in maturing the practice of the core SAFE principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility, and know when and how to recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices. You know how best to help your team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition, and know how to empower and engender self-organization.

Comfortable facilitating discussions and conflict resolution, know when to escalate (and when not to), and have an eye for improving productivity & team morale in new and creative ways.


Background Experience:
Thorough understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures, know Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum and Kanban, and someone embodying an “Agile Mindset”.
Working knowledge of Rally helpful.
Team player and team builder, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with diverse personality types.
Demonstrable competency managing projects
At least SAFe agilest certification

Scrum master certification helpful
