Description:
We are looking for an IT Project Manager, with agile practice experience, to join the Activation Change Team. This team is part of Aetna’s IT Software Delivery Modernization Program (SDM), a transformational program delivering business value by driving cost optimization, process efficiency, and cultural improvements in the way Aetna IT delivers IT solutions.
The Activation Change Team works with the communities of practice to implement process and practice changes. In service of this mission, the IT Project Manager interfaces and collaborates with Change Initiative Leads and Teams resident within the five SDM communities of practice (COPs) to plan and execute the implementation of IT practice changes. The primary responsibility includes building of implementation activities considering methods of communication, learning, engagement and measurement. This role requires a broad blend of experience and passionate interest for continuous improvement.

Fundamental Components:
  • Enjoy working closely with creative & technical-minded colleagues, and being in the middle of helping cross-functional teams conceptually generate and execute interactive ideas in a usable, useful and compelling form.
  • Thrive on defining and continuously evolving IT workflow standards, solutions, and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the SDM teams in the development, and implementation of the SDM program initiatives. The focus is to introduce the changes in an effective, non-intrusive manner.
  • Work with the team identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the iteration goal, and oversee and manage Agile tools.
  • Comfortable facilitating discussions, proactive with recommendations and conflict resolution, know when to escalate (and when not to), and have an eye for improving productivity & team morale in new and creative ways.


Background Experience:
  • Foundational understanding of Agile methodologies, values, and procedures, Scaled Agile Framework, Scrum and Kanban, and someone embodying an “Agile Mindset”.
  • Working knowledge of Rally helpful.
  • Team player and team builder, have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with diverse personality types.
  • Demonstrable competency managing projects
