Description:
Develop and deliver decision support tools, reporting applications, insights and business
intelligence based on advanced analyses and studies to support health care policy, benefits and operational decision making by Aetna internal and external constituents. Use large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs. Use Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, Hive and Python to build data pipelines. Utilize Hortonworks tools such as Ranger and Atlas for data management. Ensure the successful delivery of analyses and analytic solutions to meet business needs, interacting directly with internal and external clients and colleagues. Analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions. Perform applied statistical research and custom analysis of integrated healthcare data. Interpret results and make recommendations based on analytic findings to business areas. Make recommendations about data collection methods, metrics definition and evaluation methods. Define and deliver analytical solutions in support of healthcare business initiatives that drive short- and long-term objectives. Provide data governance and stewardship across assigned domains. Oversee data security and implement access control. Account for data governance, metadata management and data protection teams. Execute issue management and resolution processes for the data community leveraging authoritative data governance tools, building consensus around key data issues and actions required to address them, and developing action plans and timelines to complete remediation. Contribute to the development and transformation of standards for policies, procedures and standards as needed. Design and conduct analyses and outcome studies using healthcare claims, pharmacy and lab data, employing appropriate research designs and statistical methods. Develop, validate and execute algorithms, statistical models and reporting tools.

Background Experience:

Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science or Management Information Systems

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of software engineering and analysis experience. Must have experience creating test scripts; automation scripts; UAT scenarios; and management reporting. Must have experience with end-to-end delivery of the business requirements and completeness of the solution; recommending, consulting, and creating analytic solutions; programming in data warehouse or big data analytics environments; statistical analysis techniques and statistical modeling; and analytic programming tools and reporting tools including SAS; SQL; and MS Office. Must also have experience with Unix/Linux systems; and with programing in Shell.
