Financial Accounting Services Consultant

Primary Location: Hartford, CT
Additional Locations: CT-Hartford
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Financial Accounting Services (FAS) General Accounting team at CVS Health. The team's goal is to be the central, go-to team that provides solutions and support for accounting functions, internal controls and financial process improvements for CVS Health. The team primarily supports business partners across the Healthcare Business Segment.

Fundamental Components:
This position will be part of the Audit Support, Quality and Reporting team within FAS, and will provide support to audits, reporting and special projects across the FAS organization. Some responsibilities of the position will include:
  • Fulfill audit support requests and coordinate SOX and Audit testing for the team
  • Prepare both internal and external metrics packages
  • Own and execute quarterly standard operating procedure quality assurance review process
  • Provide general support to the Audit Support Team Lead
  • Project management of various process improvement efforts within FAS team

Background Experience:
​Required qualifications:
  • 1 or more years relevant experience in a accounting and/or finance role
  • ​Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
​Preferred qualifications:
  • Knowledge of SOX and Audit processes a plus
  • Prior experience leading or taking a lead role in a project team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self- initiating, highly motivated individual
  • Strong analytical skills and inherently inquisitive
  • Strong Excel and technical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment
  • Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Independent worker and analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems

Additional Job Information:
This role will create exposure to build the following skills: understanding and navigating SOX and audit processes, understanding key controls, building and rolling out new and streamlined processes, financial reporting and creating metrics, and project management. The role will also be visible to senior management.
