Aetna is seeking a technical subject matter expert in Corporate Data Marts ETL development team and has full technical knowledge of all phases of the application development process. Under general direction, has duties managing all development activities of content management initiatives, instructing, directing, and checking the work of other development personnel. The ideal candidate has a passion for technology and is excited to join Aetna as it revolutionizes the way data stored, secured and shared.

This position will be within the Corporate Data Mart ETL Development team, requiring in-depth knowledge of DataStage 11.5. The ideal candidate will be required to lead the technical design of complex, highly re-usable DataStage ETL processes including the creation and maintenance of technical application and component specifications. This position will require the ability to code to the technical specifications and often times, guide other DataStage resources through development activities within an onshore/offshore staffing model. This person will be responsible for interacting with multiple teams while working through technical and design issues. He/she will be responsible for the creation of detailed test plans as well as performing Unit and Integration testing exercises to ensure high-quality systems delivery. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as in small groups, performing technical activities including analysis, design, development, testing and production installation of all components of a DataStage application. This individual may participate in the coaching and training of new team members. Finance/Healthcare knowledge would be a great plus.
Background Experience: BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
Eight or more years in application program development experience. Involvement in all phases of the systems development life cycle.
Aware of emerging technologies and able to evaluate for appropriate use. .
6-8+ years systems analysis and program development experience with some task or team leadership, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with application development/technology support packages, product/technology evaluations.
Experience in delegation of tasks and leading development projects
Understand the business and functional requirements that apply to the applications supporting a sub-domain or domain as well as their relevant interfaces.
4 years of ETL Datastage software skills are required, with multiple years of design and development experience in diverse architectures.
Experience with DataStage 11.5, and strong Parallel programming, Unix/Linux scripting
Experience with DB2 & Netezza
