Commercial Expense Management - Finance Sr. Consultant - 70773BR

Primary Location: Hartford, CT
Additional Locations: CT-Hartford
Telework option considered for internal employees only. Otherwise, must be commutable distance to Hartford office location.

Drive Commercial Business expense strategy and SG&A as part of the Commercial Product Development and Expense Management team expense team. This individual will be responsible for partnering with senior leadership to provide expense management, expertise, and guidance as business needs change throughout the planning and forecasting process with direct accountability for large department budgets. In addition, this individual will create actionable monthly expense reporting for leadership, provide strategic cost management guidance, and ultimately drive a more efficient cost structure.

Fundamental Components:
• Become and act as the trusted finance and expense partner for senior leaders and their departments with financial accountability for budgets
• Provide strategic and technical financial expertise throughout the organization as part of ongoing expense management
• Develop comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end business processes and create reporting and analytics to identify areas of focus for efficiency improvement
• Drive efficient consolidation and management process for market expenses through the forecast/budget cycles
• Work closely and develop strong relationships with senior matrixed partners to drive accurate cost measures and metrics which align to fixed/variable cost levers
• Effectively communicate and influence key leaders and stakeholders to understand and rationalize areas of expense
• Produce monthly reporting and expense driver commentary as well as during the forecast/budget process

Background Experience:
• 3-6 years related accounting/financial experience within the healthcare, insurance, or finance services area preferred
• Experience with business planning, accounting, expense management, and financial analysis desired
• Proven experience leading projects or cross functional initiative
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar disciplines required
