Actuarial Analyst

Description:
Join a high-performing actuarial team supporting CVS Health and Aetna's government services pharmacy business. This role supports various actuarial analyses for the Medicare Part D business (MAPD and PDP, Individual and EGWP), with focus on formulary activities.

Fundamental Components:
This position is for an entry-level actuarial analyst who will work closely with other actuaries within the Part D business helping with a number of functions, namely...
- Planning & Forecasting- Provide technical support for planning, forecasting and reporting process.
- Ad Hoc Analysis – Compile and analyze data.

The ideal candidate is experienced in Microsoft Excel and SAS Enterprise Guide.


The analyst will...
Take ownership of assigned projects and/or models/tools.
Raise issues and propose suggestions as appropriate.
Provide input into decision making process.
With direction from supervisor, develop assumptions and input into models.
Demonstrate basic understanding and working knowledge of internal data sources.
Demonstrate fundamental understanding of intradepartmental products, programs, processes and policies; research problems and issues.
Provide technical support for planning, forecasting and reporting process.
Support pricing and trend analysis function.
Develop creative technical solutions to a variety of problems.
Demonstrate spreadsheeting proficiency and familiarity with database and web-based applications.
Support development and implementation of appropriate tools and models.
Support maintenance and development of enhancements to processes, tools, and make suggestions to maximize efficiency. Participate in development and finalization of business requirements and/or specifications for processes, tools, and systems. Participate in testing of changes to processes, tools, and systems.
Participate in multi-functional workgroups.
Respond to routine inquiries from internal constituents in a clear and professional manner.
Respects and meets deadlines.
Create and maintain accurate documentation of tools and processes.

Background Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Actuarial Science/Statistics/Mathematics with 3.5 GPA
Passed a minimum of 1 - 2 actuarial exams is preferred

Excellent Excel knowledge along with SAS experience

Demonstrated initiative and perseverance
Excellent oral and written communication skills
