POSITION SUMMARY
Aetna's Medicare Business Intelligence team supports the Medicare organization by embedding deep analytical insights into key decision processes and focusing on variety of complex business problems. We use advanced analytics, machine learning and business intelligence tools to generate actionable insights by leveraging big data within a cutting edge environment. Were focused on creating new opportunities that drive change in areas such as Medicare stars, service operations, medication adherence, population health management and member experience.

Opportunity is open across the US and not location specific and we are willing to consider a telework arrangement after a period of in office.

We are looking for (4) Data Scientists with strong analytical background with technical skills: Python, Machine Learning, R, Hadoop

Our opportunities in Medicare business intelligence are designed to enhance your personal and professional growth and build the skills that will lead you to success. We are currently looking for an exceptional Sr Data Scientists who would apply consulting, analytic, and leadership expertise to drive business impact across a variety of strategic problems.

Fundamental Components:

(*)
Understands key drivers of business value and contributes to team efforts of translating business opportunities into analytics projects
(*) Works with senior team members to structure analyses; identifying critical problems to be solved, best suited analytical approaches, and hypotheses to test
(*) Conducts quantitative analyses on a diverse array of topics leveraging large data sets
(*) Delivers high-quality analytical outputs and pushes analyses from output to synthesized insights which carry business implications
(*) Proactively problem-solves emerging issues or roadblocks in conducting analyses, navigating organization to find creative solutions
(*) Presents insights and clear recommendations to senior team members and business partners
(*) Responsible for project commitments to quality and on-time deliverables.
(*) Under general direction, independently executes analyses or reports to meet project needs.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

(*)
Minimum 3+ years total business experience
(*) 2+ years' experience in strategy consulting or corporate / analytics strategy roles a plus
(*) Detailed knowledge of advanced analytic tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources
(*) Experience programming using SAS, R, Python, Hadoop, Machine Learning
(*) Experience with data visualization tool such as Tableau a plus
(*) Healthcare and/or insurance sector experience preferred but not required
(*) Strategic problem-solving mindset - Ability to conceptualize and validate potential opportunities and proactively anticipate/address problems and roadblocks before they occur
(*) Excellent written and verbal communications skills, particularly in explaining complex analyses, insights or analytical concepts to senior executives.

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
