Supervisor, Account Management for Aetna International - 59591BR

Primary Location: Fresno, California
Additional Locations: CA-Fresno, CA-Los Angeles, CA-San Diego, CA-San Francisco, CA-Walnut Creek, CA-Woodland Hills

Responsible for the daily supervision of an account servicing team accountable for providing contracting support to new agents, direct sales to new members, and retention of existing business.

Fundamental Components:

Guides team in appropriate acceptance or rejection of agent/agency contracting as well as the need for additional documentation before a decision can be made.

Works with senior managers and distribution partners to evaluate insurance agents/agencies and handle distribution questions.

Consults with appropriate managers and Chief Marketing Officer to maintain SLA expectations.

Cross-functionally coordinates, consults, and works with other departments to maintain and improve upon current business processes within scope of responsibilities.

Manage workflow related to incoming direct sales calls and ensures team listens to caller needs and recommends possible plans.

May respond directly to sales calls.

Manages workflow related to policy cancelation calls and ensures team is working to conserve the business by explaining benefits and possible alternative plans.

Provides oversight and direction to staff; plans and organizes timely coordination of projects.

Establishes, communicates and implements goals for department.

Recruits, develops, trains, and motivates staff; initiates and communicates a variety of personnel actions including, employment, termination, performance reviews, salary reviews, and disciplinary actions.

Performs other related duties as required.


Background Experience:
5+ years’ progressively responsible industry and customer service experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Previous supervisory experience preferred, but not required
Insurance license, as required by state law.
