The Director, Strategy and Analysis leads important initiatives and analyses across a number of elements of the Chief Operating Officer's responsibilities. These initiatives include short term and long term business plans, potential strategic investments and acquisitions, new products and services, and improvements in critical capabilities, among others. Development and evaluation of alternatives, modeling, analyses, performance measurement, market intelligence, and related work are daily activities.
(*) Lead important critical initiatives and analyses across a number of elements of the Chief Operating Officer's responsibilities.
(*) Support the development and execution of short- and long-term business plans including assessment of alternatives, as well as forecast modeling.
(*) Assess potential strategic investments and acquisitions, including diligence, modeling, analyses, and other steps required to reach decisions and execute transactions.
(*) Conduct market research and lead business and industry diligence for prospective investments. Develop investment memorandum and materials. Work directly with investments post transaction close.
(*) Directly support senior members of the team in addition to ad hoc projects.
(*) Evaluate new products and services and improvements in critical capabilities. Develop and evaluate alternatives, model and analyze potential results, and support execution.
(*) Develop and support creation and reporting of key performance indicators and business intelligence for progress towards strategic and operational goals and make available broadly for setting and attaining goals.
(*) Work with business teams to assess and set targets for performance improvement. Formulate and prepare operational business and financial plans.
(*) Conduct research associated with business issues and plan formulation. Monitor and report on performance relative to plans.
(*) Develop and/or evaluate business models for performance initiatives, business growth initiatives, and similar activities.
(*) Support development and facilitate execution of the COO's business plan.Background Experience:
(*) A minimum of 10 years of experience and technical/functional expertise in strategy, financial analysis, operational analysis, or similar functions.
(*) Experience with cross-functional initiatives with a high degree of complexity.
(*) Experience developing analysis, presentations and support material to successfully implement strategy or change initiatives.
(*) Demonstrated financial acumen with knowledge of all aspect of P&L management including operating discipline.
(*) Fact-based problem solver with the ability to evaluate alternative courses of action and make sound management decisions.
(*) Collaborative style, with the ability to establish working relationships across the senior management team, business units, as well as external advisors and constituents.
(*) Strong analytical, oral and written communication and presentation skills; Advanced MS Office skills.
(*) Deep knowledge of health care businesses.Additional Job Information:
Advanced degree and / or CPA preferred.
Experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or similar fields.
