Design, deliver and manage programs for employee compensation (comp) including base pay, annual incentives and wealth accumulation plans.
Business Segment Compensation Director for Aetna International (AI). Partner strategically with Head of HR for AI to understand future organization and talent requirements based on business, industry, regulatory and market conditions. Define the comp needs to support this work. Active member of the Al HR leadership team.
Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to (* denotes essential functions)
·Responsible for the design, regulatory compliance, implementation, communication and delivery of complex comp programs in order to support the execution of business growth and talent strategy for AI.
·Management of comp program design and delivery services for AI. Directs the completion of major comp projects for AI and company-wide implications (i.e., compliance, systems, process). Develops program and policy recommendations for complex comp issues.
·Leads client service operations (market data, job design and base pay consulting, incentive design, wealth accumulation program development and administration) and the completion of major comp projects with company-wide implications.
·Consults directly with Head of HR for AI, HR business partners and AI executive leadership team on program delivery. Proactively identifies and resolves issues and opportunities.
·Develops comp recommendations for offers to new hires and promotions. Directs the preparation of material required for approval.
·Partner with Executive and General Compensation teams on the development of ongoing administration, design, analysis and implementation of various comp programs including pay for performance, salary structure design and modeling, strategic workforce planning/financial analysis and incentive plans that successfully execute enterprise and client business talent strategies.
·Participates in the development of implementation of comp policies including legal and regulatory requirements across multiple geographies and governing bodies. Ensures compliance with applicable laws.
·Develops communications materials and tools to ensure that programs and services are understood by employees and that managers have the necessary skills for decision-making. Designs overall communications and training strategy for comp programs and policies.
·Directs the vendor management process for AI comp products, projects and services.
·Collects, analyzes and reports required information to key constituents on program effectiveness in AI
·Designs and develops AI comp plans and programs in support of acquisitions, mergers and divestitures. Ensure consistency in comp philosophy, process and practices to the Enterprise when applicable.
·Assesses market data and best practice analysis in designing AI comp programs
·Leads complex comp program and policy development including best practice research, data analysis, recommendations, and presentation to senior management and communications strategy. Manages the implementation of approved programs
·Performs financial, strategic, and statistical analysis involved with designing and developing employee comp programs
·Implements and manages ongoing program delivery for AI comp programs and services.
·Provides direction or mentoring for less experienced staff
·Works with the HR Contact Center on problem resolution that requires plan/policy redesign.
·Completion of project milestones according to plan
·Cost against budget for G&A management and major project.
·Issue resolution according to established TATs or agreed upon timeframes
·Feedback from constituents on programs, services and project deliverables
·Maintain a working knowledge of international legislation influencing compensation
·Professional designation desirable (CCP)
·5-10 years of experience in compensation program design and implementation.
·Experience in compensation consulting in multi-national corporation
·Project management experience for large, company-wide programs
Education and Certification Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Understanding of international compensation practices and regulations

·In-depth technical knowledge of compensation program design (base pay, annual and specialized incentives, wealth accumulation programs) including related financial and regulatory issues. Specifically in a multi-national business.
·Strong knowledge of health competitor, general industry groups and multi-national business.
·Proficient in statistical and market data research/analysis and personal computer-based applications that perform these analyses.
