Third Party Risk Senior Security Advisor

Primary Location: Denver, Colorado

Description:
The Senior Security Advisor will craft, implement and deploy information security policies, procedures and guidelines within the Aetna business unit for CVS Health, a Fortune 5 company. The selected individual will develop, maintain, publish and/or making sure information security standards and guidelines encompassing data, and intellectual security. Provides reports to Management regarding the efficiency of network and data security making recommendations for the adoption of new procedures and technologies resulting in improved business results and compliance. Incumbent will coordinate internal control systems to ensure that appropriate information access levels and security clearances aremaintained. This position requires leadership skills to develop a robust security organization, which includes providing meaningful performance feedback, mentoring, coaching and promoting optimal employee engagement.

Fundamental Components:
  • Provides direct information security training to all employees, contractors, alliances, and other third parties
  • Lead security teams in optimally adapting to and applying rapidly changing security technology to business needs
  • Coordinates internal and external audits and follow up with implementation, based audit recommendations
  • Serves as an internal information security consultant to the organization
  • Ensures awareness of organization’s information security policies and procedures among employees, contractors, alliances and other third parties
  • Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to champion information security awareness within the organization
  • Participates in the activities of the Information Security Committee with respect to the organization's information security program
  • Communicates unresolved information security exposures, misuse, or non-compliance situations to senior management
  • Leads and directs a team to promote optimal performance and engagement.


Background Experience:
  • 7 years’ experience in a health care delivery system role with accountability for business results.
  • 5 years of Resource Management experience (people and projects)
  • 5 years’ experience working with security-related regulatory matters
  • Preferred
  • Experience in security concepts, technologies (hardware and software) and functionalities embedded in infrastructure environments
  • Professional certification preferred (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CCO, CISM, SANS-GIAC).
  • Bachelor's degree desired or equivalent work experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to present and discuss information security in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and promotes understanding.Ability to attract, interview and hire qualified personnel.Knowledge of security-related regulatory matters and experience with private/public partnerships.Ability to provide confidence and leadership to project teams in cross-functional environments and efforts.Ability to manage teams working under stress in emergencies; flexibility to handle pressure coming from all directions at one time.Ability to lead security teams in effectively adapting to and applying rapidly changing security technology to business needs.Strong controls orientation.Strong understanding of relationships between threats, vulnerabilities, asset values and their effect on overall business risk.Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.Proficiency in security concepts, technologies (hardware and software) and functionalities embedded in infrastructure environments.
