This team is responsible for Aetna's digital strategy and all digital products; as well as the development roadmap and execution of the roadmap. A key part of this team is to build an integrated platform and underlying products to drive engagement and revolutionize health and wellness.

Aetna is taking on a major initiative to redesign and rebuild many of its customer facing digital assets. This effort will include a completely new approach to developing software within Aetna, using the latest design approaches, technologies, and processes. Aetna Digital is a newly formed startup like business unit within Aetna, which will design, build and deliver a completely new and integrated digital experience for our users.

Fundamental Components:
Aetna Digital in Denver, CO is looking for a Manager , QA Software Engineering (1st Line Manager) with experience in leadership of quality teams and hands on development of testing of either Web or Native mobile applications as well as backend services. You will have an opportunity to provide both leadership and technical expertise to drive the delivery of high quality software products in a SAFE Agile environment. As a software leader, you will use your skills to support, manage and mentor software quality professionals with deep technical backgrounds and experience testing and delivering awesome user focused solutions with high quality. Your solid leadership experience and success is critical to support quality within the scrum teams, who will drive forward innovation and help with rapid high quality delivery of cutting edge application solutions.
In this role, you will:
Work closely with Architects, Design team, Product team, Accessibility, Security and Scrum Teams to ensure quality is built into the features that are delivered, on time based off PI planning commitments.
Leadership skills – inspire, mentor, motivate and establish goals and objectives and track and promote the professional growth and development of your team. Provide continuous coaching and feedback on performance.
Manage a team of QA automation engineers that span across multiple Agile scrum teams supporting both frontend client UI and backend services.
Participate in SAFe Agile PI planning sessions to ensure Quality tasks and definition of done efforts are planned for.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Quality and help teams increase productivity and foster innovation.
Resolves technical and operational and team problems
Responsible for performance reviews and working with the team members on their goal setting expectations, development plans and priorities
Drive and support the organization initiatives including Agile, automated testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery and documentation
Partner effectively with distributed cross functional and cross organization teams
Work with product to understand the feature requirements to support and guide the technical team
Bring energy and excitement to the team
Promote proper implementation of SAFe process techniques


Background Experience:
Desired Skills:
Experience in Web and Native mobile (iOS and Android) UI automated testing.
Experience in automated server testing of REST APIs
Hands on automated testing using any of the following - Selenium, Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, Ruby, Java, TestNG
Experience working with CI/CD process

Leadership skills of high performing teams delivering high quality applications
Experience leading quality in Agile Scrum Teams
Experience working with distributed cross functional and cross organization teams
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and deal with multiple priorities
Excellent verbal and written communications


Background Experience Desired:
3+ years of technical lead and or managing a team of test engineers
3+ years experience with Agile Software Quality processes and Tools
10+ years of experience with hands on QA automated and manual testing.
Ability to understand complex distributed system/application concepts to drive the adoption of new technology and trends

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
