Market Head of Sales and Service (VP of Sales)

POSITION SUMMARY
Top leadership position in an assigned geographic areas (North Texas and Oklahoma) providing strategic direction and leadership to sales and service staff to achieve sales, service and retention goals for assigned business or customer segments (Middle Market 50-5000), products and services to achieve profitable growth. To include but not limited to Medical, Dental, Vision, Voluntary, etc.

Fundamental Components:
Fundamental Components & Physical Requirements include but are not limited to
Sets, communicates and executes operational strategy and performance measures in line with company, segment, region and market goals.
Ensures achievement of sales, membership growth, retention and profitability goals.
Analyzes competitive environment to support and improve pricing, underwriting and product development strategies as well as service approach and sales efforts.
Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with all constituents (producers, plan sponsors, providers, customers, regulatory agencies).
Ability to develop and deploy effective distribution strategies to attain/exceed plan targets.
In depth understanding of the medical underwriting process and how it impacts pricing and the overall financials of the plan.
Recruit, attract, motivate, and retain a diverse workforce and engages and develops them through mentoring, coaching and making available tools and resources.
Partners with cross-functional team and represents sales to ensure internal and external constituent needs are met. Removes organizational barriers that impact the cross-functional work required to achieve results.
Educates constituents on Aetna specific policies, product information, and procedures as well as industry issues and related current key business issues.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
At least 10 years of industry sales experience.
At least 5 years of sales management experience. (Desired but looking for a self-driven individual who can think outside the box)
Preferred
Experience in Self Funding
Understanding of the Dallas/Fort Worth employer market
Understanding of the Dallas/Fort Worth producer market

EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Insurance/Life and Health Insurance License is desired


FUNCTIONAL EXPERIENCES
Functional - Underwriting/New business - group medical/1-3 Years

This is a great opportunity for a potential candidate to step into a bigger role managing the middle market sales (50-5000) for one of the largest metropolitan areas in the United States. Individual will have the opportunity to engage in product development, plan cost management, directly interact with network, distribution channel management, and build a sales/service team to achieve goals. Must be self-driven to be successful.
