Health Care Quality Management Project Manager

Primary Location: Dallas, TX
Additional Locations: TX-Dallas
Manages and influences health care quality projects and initiatives through design, development, and implementation. These activities enable Aetna to improve health care quality products, services, and processes by partnering across business units to meet business needs and accomplish goals.

Fundamental Components:
Serves as the Texas QM Project Leader to oversee all aspects of PIP and QIP project implementation including development of PIP and QIP proposals, work plans and interventions. Using exemplary writing and project management skills, takes responsibility for deploying, implementing, monitoring and reporting on multiple state and federal PIPs and QIPs. Working closely with QM staff and across departmental functions to ensure the projects meet contractual requirements, have buy-in from affected departments and adequately budgeted. Support HEDIS and NCQA Accreditation teams on projects as assigned. Prioritizes and makes recommendations for the design, development, and implementation strategy for quality improvement projects and initiatives. Conducts data gathering and report development for the QAPI, AI, ANE and other reports as necessary. Designs the data collection methodology, metrics, and data elements needed to measure outcomes of QI projects. Accurately measures statistically significant improvement in reporting on project progress. Translates and delivers business information to internal and external constituents via formal presentations and/or written communications. Develops documentation templates and systems to support QM projects and initiatives. Forms and leads cross functional workgroups to design and implement QI initiatives. May have supervisory responsibilities. Insures timely and accurate submission of state and federal reports. Educates and consults with unit business managers on quality improvement methods (e.g., work flow, data analysis, metrics).

Background Experience:
Project management and leadership experience required
3+ years clinical and/or managed care experience in the healthcare industry and quality management required
Bachelor's degree, Nursing degree, or other comparable healthcare experience.
Minimum Bachelors degree preferred.
Strong computer skills including mastery of MS Excel.
