Senior Director, Small Group Market Head of Sales and Service, Great Lakes

The Small Group Market Head of Sales and Service is a critical member of the senior leadership team in the Great Lakes market and is responsible for driving profitable growth in the 2-100 segment, including Fully Insured and AFA business. This is done by delivering excellent service and value to existing customers to retain them and by winning new business with a strong and differentiated value proposition. It is also critical that we manage to a comprehensive market strategy for Small Group, execute against that strategy to drive growth and results and enhance the strategy based on market intelligence, insight and knowledge of other business dynamics.

Fundamental Components:
• Sets, communicates and executes operational strategy and performance measures in line with company, segment, region and market goals • Ensures achievement of sales, membership growth, retention and profitability goals • Analyzes competitive environment to support and improve pricing, underwriting and product development strategies as well as service approach and sales efforts • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with all constituents (producers, General Agents, plan sponsors, providers, customers) • Recruits, attracts and retains a diverse workforce and engages and develops them through mentoring, coaching and making available tools and resources • Partners with cross-functional team and represents sales to ensure internal and external constituent needs are met. Removes organizational barriers that impact the cross-functional work required to achieve results • Educates constituents on Aetna specific policies, product information, and procedures as well as industry issues and related current key business issues

Background Experience:
• At least 10 years of industry sales experience, specifically in medical insurance • At least 5 years of sales management experience• Leadership experience driving results in a matrixed business culture through collaboration and communication with enterprise partners
