Centralized Sales Support Lead

Primary Location: Chicago, Illinois
Additional Locations: IL-Chicago

Director, Sales Support – Great Lakes Market
Manages sales support team members, initially across Small Group and Middle market, in support of driving sales effectiveness, sales success and efficiency.
Designs and executes strategies and action steps to successfully sell Aetna commercial business across multiple segments and geographies
Leverages tools and processes to maximize effectiveness and support market strategy to drive profitable growth and sales success


Fundamental Components:
Partners with key business leaders across the organization to cultivate and manage critical relationships
with various internal partners and external customers including existing plan sponsors/prospects, brokers, consultants, health local market, field representatives, etc.
Executes on critical initiatives with urgency and attention to detail based on the priorities of senior leadership; adapts to changes in internal and external circumstances to drive performance
Helps track metrics regarding sales effectiveness and sales performance, including sales success/close ratios, retention and broker/producer engagement and performance information
Supports team members and aligns resources to meet performance goals and metrics; ensures processes are effective and commits to continuous improvement
Works collaboratively with other business segments on sales, distribution, product & pricing strategies and influences underwriting policies to maximize profitable growth In partnership with Segment Leaders, oversees market CRM (SFDC) initiatives - includes opportunity updates, team training and report production Actively engages with the National Sales Support team to ensure market accuracy and consistency throughout the RFP process, particularly for large opportunities

Takes leadership role on strategic initiatives to support segment’s financial and strategic objectives
May develop and implement sales management processes and systems to manage internal sales distribution. Develop,
distribute and analyze standardized reporting to monitor quote and sales activity by segment, funding, broker and CFO
Negotiates internally to ensure appropriate alignment of resources and consistent approach to deliverables
Develop and implement distribution management processes and systems to manage external sales distribution, including brokers, consultants, direct and non-traditional producers.

Background Experience:
5-7+ years of recent and related sales admin experience
1-2 years management experience preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
