POSITION SUMMARY


Fundamental Components:

Participate in the design, build, and management of large scale data structures and pipelines and efficiently extract/ load/ transform (ETL) workflows.
Responsible for developing large scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data that helps generate insights and addresses reporting needs.
Write complex ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic distributed data processing.
Collaborate with data science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
Use in-depth knowledge on Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, Apache Spark, Hive and experience designing & optimizing queries to build data pipelines.
Use strong programming skills in Scala, Python, Java or any of the major languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems.
Build data marts and data model to support Data Science and other internal customers. Integrate data from a variety of sources, assuring that they adhere to data quality and accessibility standards.
Analyze current information technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions.
Experiment with available tools and advises on new tools in order to determine optimal solution given the requirements dictated by the model/use case.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.

Minimum 5 years of ETL/Datawarehousing experience working on the design, development and documentation of ETL processes.
Experience must include development of transformation pipelines using IBM Infosphere Datastage, PL/SQL, and MySQL; building data marts using Netezza; and working with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands.
Must also have experience with the following: programming in Java; Salesforce; XML and/or JSON parsing; and production scheduling tools like crontab or Zeke or TIDAL.
