Vocational Field Case Manager Western Massachussetts area

Primary Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Additional Locations: MA-Boston

Responsible for assessing and analyzing an injured employee to evaluate
the vocational needs required to facilitate his/her appropriate and timely
return to work. Determines and then provides the most appropriate vocational
rehabilitation services to a claimant within applicable jurisdictional
guidelines. Acts as a liaison with claimant/family, employer, provider(s),
insurance companies, and other relevant personnel.

Monday-Friday work schedule and no holidays.

Fundamental Components:

Assesses and analyzes an injured employee’s vocational status. Develops
a plan to assist the claimant in an appropriate and timely return to work.
Interviews claimant in their homes, work-sites, or physician’s office to
provide ongoing vocational case management services.. Administers vocational
testing, performs job site analysis, job development, and provides counseling
and job placement to manage claimant's return to work. Communicates both
in-person and telephonically with claimant, patient, medical providers,
attorneys, employers, and insurance carriers. Prepares all required
documentation of case work activities. May arrange referrals, consultations and
therapeutic services for claimants. Confers with specialists concerning course
of care and treatment, as it relates to claimant's ability to return to work.
Conducts research to identify educational and employment resources, alternative
vocational goals, training programs, and job leads. Applies all laws and
regulations that apply to the provision of rehabilitation services. Applies all
special instructions required by individual insurance carriers and referral
sources. Performs labor market surveys. Testifies as required to substantiate
any relevant case work or reports. Performs other duties as assigned.

Background Experience:


Masters degree in related field required.


CRC (Certified Rehab Counselor) or CDMS (Certified Disability Management Specialist) required.

Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Word and Outlook, required.

Knowledge of workers compensation and disability industries preferred.

Ability to work independently required.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills needed. Willing to travel New England area
regularly, mostly within MA

Knowledge of laws and regulations governing delivery of rehabilitation services.
Effective communications, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Job Information:
This Field Case Management position offers regular travel in central and southern New
England, mostly within MA. Every day offers something different. Position does
offer some flexibility once you are established in your role. Case Managers are
eligible for a monthly bonus program.
