Pharmacy Benefit Technology Specialist

Primary Location: Hartford, CT
Additional Locations: AZ-Phoenix, CT-Hartford, OH-New Albany, PA-Blue Bell, TX-Arlington
Coordinate and represent business requirements related to pharmacy benefit system enhancements to support the coding of client benefit plans in for claims adjudication. Ensure the end state of the enhancement meets the benefit and product business strategy and objectives, and that deliverables and due dates are met. This position is a key driver of our pharmacy benefit installation process success.

Fundamental Components:
  • Responsible for communicating business requirements and participating in release meetings related to system enhancements for benefit plan installation
  • Partner with IT teams to ensure business requirements are appropriately translated into system requirements.
  • Build test plans, participate in UAT testing for system enhancements, document results and coordinates post-production checkout after each release
  • Proactively and independently leads projects by setting direction, creating project plan and timeline
  • Tracks progress and communicates status to pharmacy leadership on a regular basis
  • Participates as a member of a cross functional work team
  • Must be an independent worker with ability to handle assignments with little direction.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments/projects at the same time while ensuring completion of assignments according to established timelines

Background Experience:
  • 3-5 years in depth knowledge of Aetna’s Pharmacy products, services, and system capabilities
  • Experience related to system enhancements/implementation preferred
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy benefit standards
  • Proven track record in meeting project milestones and negotiating for resources
  • Past positions required acting as a project lead and directing a team
  • Knowledge of Rx terminology and
