Director, Stakeholder Relations (62929BR)

Supports the business by recommending appropriate actions, strategies and/or alternatives to meet business needs. Has responsibility for leading/managing all aspects of special projects and or programs such as planning, coordination, development, implementation including the financial implications while prioritizing work, resources and time. Ensures the end state of the project and/or business operations meets business objective(s) and that all deliverables and due dates are met. Highly collaborative process often requires managing relationships across the segments or multiple functional areas.

Develops and manages strong relationships with key community and regulatory stakeholders. Collaborates with key leadership in Dallas to ensure an understanding of business needs and serves as a liaison with key external stakeholders. Provides consultation to community engagement leadership and staff to set strategic direction for team(s) and/or complex special projects and or programs (e.g., national in scope which may impact one or all segments, and typically runs multiple years in duration with high financial implications). This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Fundamental Components:

Responsibilities include
  • Builds strong relationships with community organizations across Texas that support strategic objectives of ABH TX for plan members and to improve services to members including provider associations, MCO associations, advocacy organizations, regulatory authorities, disability awareness training, cultural sensitivity, identifying communication resources for SDoH, and addressing issues in individual communities across the state of Kansas.
  • Sets the direction of the strategic business plan and translates into vision for ABH TX team.
  • As a business leader, influences all stakeholders to support key projects/programs to ensure positive outcomes that deliver on results.
  • Drives change in order to improve performance results, organization effectiveness and/or systems/quality/services (e.g., policies, processes or systems).
  • Identifies gaps in processes or organization and challenges self and others to develop and implement solutions.
  • Ensures accurate prioritization of key projects and programs within purview.
Collects and reports on innovative practices in the Texas plan to share across AETNA, promoting through marketing, and elevating to national organizations.

Background Experience:
Background/Experience Desired:
  • 10+ years healthcare, managed care and/or health insurance industry experience that reflects a proven track record of proficiency in the required competencies noted.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, prioritize demands from those teams, synthesize information received and generate meaningful conclusions.
  • Proven leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building/management skills. Ability to express thoughts in an organized and articulate manner. Demonstrates active listening skills and builds a climate of trust and respect with prospective and existing clients, stakeholders, community resources and partners.
  • Ability to conceive innovative ideas or solutions to meet program and contract requirements.
  • Proven track record managing complex projects and or programs.
Multiple years proven leadership experience setting strategic direction and influencing change that resulted in quantifiable positive outcomes.
